Lady Bird

Here's our latest collaborative effort, a children's table created for a local preschool auction.
Today Jen was asking if she was turning into the "crazy bird lady" with all of her bird art.
I lied and said she wasn't, that's what friends are for.
Then later I was thinking about what Sir Paul McCartney once told me (well... OK the whole audience at one of his concerts) about his song Black Bird, and how it is about a black slave woman (in the UK bird is slang for girl) who was finally experiencing her first taste of freedom
The words...
Black bird singing in the dead of night
take these broken wings and learn to fly
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to arise.
Who better to represent birds strong, weak, dead, curious, cute.... free (!) then Jen,
the most resilient bird I know, crazy or not.
